MHEC’s data networking hardware and related services contracts are the result of a competitive RFP process completed in August 2014. For the purpose of this RFP, there were four product categories: Category 1: Network Equipment and Services, Category 2: Wireless Equipment and Services, Category 3: Voice and Services, and Category 4: Wavelength Division Multiplexing and Services. Thirteen proposals were evaluated. With no responses received for Category 3. Upon, meeting all of the requirements of the request for proposal the committee selected to award:

  • Dell (Categories 1 and 2)
  • HP Enterprise (Categories 1 and 2)
  • Ciena from Walker and Associates (Category 4)

These prices are 20-35% lower than their discounted educational or commercial pricing, and when combined with volume discounts can provide very cost effective purchases for your institution.

MHEC Addendum: University of Nebraska at Omaha Invitation to Bid

The MHEC addendum with Dice Communications, Inc. is a result of a competitively bid solicitation by the University of Nebraska at Omaha for Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Equipment and Maintenance. The bid solicitation included an option to extend access to any contract awarded pursuant to the bid to MHEC eligible organizations.  The bid request was published on December 14, 2015, with proposals due January 22, 2106, and Dice Communications, Inc. was awarded the University of Nebraska at Omaha contract for Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Equipment and Maintenance on February 10, 2016. The resulting addendum, extending the agreed upon discounts for Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise hardware, maintenance, training, services, and support to all eligible member states in the MHEC region was signed on April 15, 2016.
